Office Space Exchange
SPRING CLEANING It has been 5 years since the 3Cs facility opened. During that time the number of people using the facility has increased each year. Parks and Recreation has moved different activities around in order to offer more programs. Now the City offices will be changing locations. If you have been in the Police Department or the City Offices you may have noticed some minor construction taking place. This work is being done to allow both departments to switch locations in order to better utilize the space for a more efficient work area. The Police Department will end up with a little more room to meet their needs, both for their work and also for the records and items storage. The City Administration offices will come together where everyone is in one area to better help assist the public and also for a better work environment. We will also be able to organize some of the records more efficiently. When this project is complete the entryway for the Administration offices will be on the North end of the building and the Police Department will be entered through the 3Cs portion of the building, while and when 3Cs is open. Otherwise, the north entrance will be used for Police matters after hours. It has been mentioned that City facilities would be located elsewhere off site, that is not the case. We are staying here within the 3Cs but trying to better utilize the space that we have. It is our hope that before the end of May this project will be completed. Thank you for your patience. NOTICES...NOTICES...NOTICES...NOTICES...NOTICES...NOTICES Parents who have children in the Ballard School system and use the “Drop Off” zone in front of Ballard Jr/Sr High. This area is for the dropping off or picking up of students only. At no time should anyone be parking in that area for any length of time. I have noticed and have had complaints about people parking there especially during activities at the high school and after school hours. We will be working with the school getting more signs at the locations to remind persons not to park there. We have also added the “No U Turn” signs at both ends of the drop off area. Please be aware that “U Turns” can only be done at intersections and not in the middle of the street. This also brings up parents picking up children and using the 3C’s driveway to do this. The City does not mind parents using the parking lot to pick up their children after school. It does become a problem when parents and several at a time, park right in the drive for 5, 10, 15 minutes or more and wait for the kids. It is a safety issue for kids and adults walking in between cars to get to the parking lot. I am asking all parents to please continue to use this area to pick up your children but to park in a parking stall in the actual parking lot itself. Do not use the driveway. A reminder for all citizens of Huxley. While the snow ordinance is in affect, there is no parking on any city street with in the city limits of Huxley until the street has been cleaned by the city crews and plows. After the streets are cleared, you may resume parking on the streets. Also, you may blow and push the snow from your driveways and sidewalks into the street as long as the city crews have not plowed the streets and as long as you do not create a traffic hazard by leaving a big pile of snow in the street. If the streets have been cleaned, not only is it a violation of city ordinance to do this, but it still creates a traffic and safety hazard. It is always best to keep all the snow from your drives and sidewalks on your own property to begin with. Thank you all for your time. Have a safe winter driving season.
