Park System Overview

The Huxley Parks and Recreation Department encompassing seven neighborhood and community parks serves the expanding community of Huxley. Park amenities include a disc golf course, amphitheatre, picnic pavilions, basketball courts, baseball and softball fields, six playgrounds, tennis courts, soccer fields, horse shoe pits and hiking/jogging/walking paths.

 
With over 100 acres of green space, to the Heart of Iowa Nature Trail for other outdoor recreation enthusiasts, Story County's Christensen Forest Preserve with beautiful prairies and hiking trails and Big Creek and Ledges State Parks within 15 minutes, Huxley is a growing community and an ideal location to raise a family.
 
Thank you in advance for helping to keep our parks beautiful and enjoyable for all visitors by placing all garbage in trash bins and picking up after your parties or gatherings in our picnic shelters.

Park Shelters can be rented for $3; rental form is located here.  Please submit rental form to the Huxley Parks and Recreation Office at  the Citizen's Community Center (3C's).
