Thank you for visiting the website of the City of Huxley Parks & Recreation Department. Our goal is to provide the information you need for yourself or your family to take part in our diverse offering of educational and recreational activities and programs. Recreation, both inside and outdoors, is vital to our overall health and wellness. 

Please let us know if there is additional information we can provide via the website and we will be happy to do so. We also encourage you to come share your ideas at our next Parks & Recreation Board meeting, held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm at 3C's.

 

Huxley is situated in an ideal location within the central Iowa region full of many recreation and outdoor amenities. From its large community recreation center with full gym and racquetball court, six city parks and over 100 acres of green space to the Heart of Iowa Nature Trail for other outdoor recreation enthusiasts, Story County's Christensen Forest Preserve with beautiful prairies and hiking trails and Big Creek and Ledges State Parks within 15 minutes, Huxley is a growing community and an ideal location to raise a family.
